Csaba Makó holds both a degree in economics and a doctorate in sociology as well as a number of distinguished professorships. He has held visiting fellowships at the University of Glasgow Business School (under the PHARE Programme), at the Institute for Social Sciences at Chuo University in Tokyo, and in the USA, under the Eisenhower Foundation Exchange Fellowship scheme. He has also been a visiting professor at Hitotsubashi University, Tokyo, the University of Trento, and the University of Quebec in Montreal and the Autonomous University of Barcelona. He is widely published in Hungarian, English and French and also speaks Russian. His research interests include organisational innovation, social conditions of labour, skill and knowledge use, small firm networks and trust relations, technology transfer and industrial relations in transition in the context of globalisation.
